Sold out! Ivo Kahánek performs with The Dvořák Trio at prestigious Dresden Music Festival

2. June 2015

20:00 - 22:00, Dresdner Musikfestspiele, Schloss Albrechtsberg, Dresden, Germany

Prominent Czech pianist, Ivo Kahánek, performs as the member of chamber ensemble, The Dvořák Trio, together with Jan Fišer (violin) and Tomáš Jamník (violoncello) on June 2, 2015 at Dresden Music Festival.

The Czech Dvořák Trio, which will be presenting its chamber-music program amid the royal ambience of Albrechtsberg Palace, comes right from the heart of the North-South axis. The Crown Hall, with its sumptuous aura, formidable acoustics and outstanding view of the river Elbe, has often provided the atmospheric setting for unique concert experiences. During the voluntary exile of Prince Albert of Prussia, who moved to Saxony because of his morganatic marriage, the sound of domestic music-making may have often been heard despite the family’s reclusive life. In this tradition, listeners can look forward to an impressive Festival concert in a fantastic setting, with the young ensemble presenting a colourful program ranging from Haydn and Smetana to the great Scandinavian composers Grieg and Sibelius.

Programme:

Joseph Haydn: Piano Trio in G Major op. 73/2 Hob. XV: 25 »Gypsy Trio«
Jean Sibelius: Piano Trio in C Major »Loviisa«
Edvard Grieg: Andante con moto
Bedřich Smetana: Trio for Piano, Violin and Violoncello in G Minor op. 15
